Description
The intersection of Pershing and 5 South places bikes at a disadvantage legally. This makes little sense, particularly when the 5 NORTH ramp only 200 feet earlier has a "Share the Road" sign. Bikes don't belong in crosswalks and sending this message to cyclists, walkers and drivers confuses everyone as to where bikes should be: in the road, behaving as a user of the road.

Agreed that at the very least the sign should just be removed for the stated reasons; it actually harms, rather than helps a cyclist as they try to safely maneuver down this dangerous section of Pershing.
Additionally, this action would be a good start towards getting in compliance with the Pershing Bikeway enhancements planned by SANDAG (i.e., this is already what the plan is for this section, so get started by at least removing the crosswalk sign). The work is supposed to start soon: http://www.sandag.org/uploads/publicationid/publicationid_1941_19118.pdf
