Description

Sometimes, the traffic light allowing westward drivers on Kentucky St to turn left (north) onto Mare Island Way simply does not turn green. You can sit through several cycles of Mare Island traffic getting green, yellow, and red lights, but the Kentucky St light remains red. Today I spent over 6 minutes @ that light and finally turned right (south) instead, looped through town and ended up nearly late for work because of that light. I'm a teacher, so being late is problematic and unprofessional. Have encountered this problem w/that light on and off for 1-2 years. Once I did go through the red--no traffic was coming. Today, I considered it for a split second, but luckily didn't go; the red on MI Way lasted only a fraction of a second before it changed back to green again. I would be dead if I had tried to go. Please address this problem asap. It always makes me nervous in the morning, because the light's failure to function is completely unpredictable.
