    A homeless camp has been set-up right next to the utility junction box at the corner of Perimeter Parkway and Old Monrovia Rd. The homeless had been cleared out but are now re-gathering. They still frequent the woods and the surrounding areas. I called the Huntsville Police West Precinct on Tuesday 10 September 2019 to report a homeless person sleeping on the sidewalk. The woman who answered the precinct phone was not friendly and came across that I was annoying her. She asked me if the person sleeping was disturbing anyone. I told her that was not the issue it was my understanding that sleeping on the sidewalk was not lawful. Requesting that more patrol and actions be taken to preserve the community so that property values, safety and overall welfare of residents be addressed.

    This is not a complaint but rather a compliment. I would like to Thank the City of Huntsville for installing the new sidewalks at Old Monrovia and Rideout Rd. This is a welcomed addition and will no doubt be safer for our neighborhood. Also, there has been a noticeable decrease in the homeless pan handling. My hat is off to our city for their continued support of our community.

    There are homeless and a homeless camp set up in the wooded area of Old Monrovia Rd. and Perimeter Parkway. This issue has been reported several times. I have called the police at the West Precinct to report issues. The homeless are pan handling on the corner. They have a tent set up in the wooded area. There is trash all around the area. The beggars have trash on the sidewalk on the grass. This area has limited space for others to walk. The elderly and children walk in this area and are confronted with this behavior. This issue requires the attention of the city.
