  • Generally poor road conditions Αναγνωρισμένο
16 Vernon St. Oakland, CA - Adams Point

There are a myriad of small potholes, large bumps, and cracks in the road along this entire block of Vernon St. next to Whole Foods. Given the increased volume of traffic that uses this road now, this is an issue that should be addressed sooner than later.

    Thanks!

  • Valle Vista Ave. At Mira Vista Ave. Oakland, CA - Grand Lake

People are parking in an area of empty asphalt that occupies the upside of a retaining wall (see image for further detail). While this area was not marked with No Parking signs when it was built, it was marked with painted stripes which indicate that the area was not intended for parking.

The cars parking in this area create a presently dangerous situation. They cover up the only One Way street sign that indicates that Valle Vista is a one way street for drivers who are coming down the hill. It also causes pedestrians who are walking down the hill to walk in the middle of the street. The cars parked there also shine their lights directly into the homes below at night, which is invasive for those homeowners.

While it is a secondary concern, it is worth noting that the cars put a significant amount of weight on the retaining wall, which was likely not intended when it was constructed. That weight will cause the wall and the area to degrade faster than if there were not cars parked on it.

To resolve this issue, we need No Parking signs installed in the area immediately.

Given that this is a dangerous situation due to the covering of the One Way street sign, I would appreciate an immediate response to this request.

    Thanks!

  • Dangerous gaps in asphalt near curb Αναγνωρισμένο
601 Valle Vista Ave. Oakland, CA - Grand Lake

    Hi There,

There are numerous large chunks of asphalt missing near the point at which the road meets the curb. The missing chunks cause cars which are trying to park to end up on the curb, or jam their tires/rims into the curb. It also causes large piles of debris to get stuck in the holes when it rains, rather than the material flowing down the gutter as they should.

A quick note regarding the location of the holes. The address I provided, 601 Valle Vista, is a corner lot that intersects Valle Vista and Mira Vista. The gaps in the asphalt are near the north end of the lot, on the Mira Vista end.
