  • Windchester And 6th St Vallejo, California - Vallejo
It doesn't seem to do any good to report a junked vehicle on the street to Vallejo's Finest. This car has been parked illegally for well over a month now. It has a busted out headlight, a flat tire, and it's parked on the sidewalk. Look at the pictures. What else do you need to know to get it towed away??????

This report is "other" because the pathway around Lake Dalwigk next to Lake Dalwigk Park, as far as I can tell, belongs to Vallejo Sanitation and Flood Control District. The problem is tons of trash cascading down the slope along 5th St. 5th Street apparently is Vallejo's city dump #2. So who is responsible for cleaning up the mess and why aren't they doing it??
  • 198 Skyline Drive Vallejo, California - Vallejo
I took a dog for a walk in Hanns Park yesterday and was astonished at how much trash was strewn about. Lots of plastic shopping bags, food containers, etc. Most of the trash was farther into the park than by the streets which makes me suspect GVRD has a problem with its clean-up crews doing proper park maintenance.

Yesterday I took a dog for a walk in the tree park on Mare Island. I noticed how green and fresh the grass was. Nice. But I discovered the ground was water saturated with a number of standing pools of water. That's a mosquito breeding problem. We don't need them. Perhaps the trees need the water as well as the grass but watering should be metered properly to cut the mosquito infestation to a minimum as it may be considered a public heath concern for West Nile virus disease and perhaps some day a Zika virus threat. Please evaluate the watering practice at the tree park for proper vegetation care and mosquito reduction. Thank you.

This inoperative or abandoned vehicle reported here has not moved for over a month now. I reported it to the Vallejo Police Dept. twice now and still no action. So I'm reporting it here on See-Click-No-Fix for informative and entertainment and purpose only.

Again, it is a white two door automobile sitting on the sidewalk with a flat tire, license number 6PRE867.

Another way to report an abandoned vehicle on line is via https://compass.cityofvallejo.net/report/issue/

The form at http://66.161.26.67/GovSite/default.asp?serviceID1=609&Frame=L1 doesn't seem to be monitored.

The link, http://bit.ly/1TLvQeZ, is not a live link and therefore is USELESS. Come on folks, GET WITH THE PROGRAM AND PUT A LINK TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTING SYSTEM THAT WORKS!

" You can file your report by calling the abandoned vehicle hotline at (707) 648-4682, visiting http://bit.ly/1TLvQeZ, or emailing trafficmobile@cityofvallejo.net. "

The URL for reporting abandoned vehicles on public property is incorrect. Please provide the correct URL for online reporting abandoned vehicles to the Vallejo Police Department. Thank you.

  • 5th St & Ryder Vallejo, California - Vallejo

On any given day there is an occurrence of illegal dumping on 5th St between Lemon St and Solano Ave. Huge piles of trash of all sorts, mattresses, bed springs, sofas, chairs, tables, cabinets, a literal cornucopia of the leavings of the economically disadvantaged.

Vallejo would serve the better interests of its citizens by opening a free dumping yard. All that would be required is that people who have stuff to get rid of attest to being unable to afford the cost of having Recology pick up their rejects or other reasons that require them to get rid of things quickly. For the house cleaners who get by on thin margins a small fee should be charged that can be easily born by frequent users. Yes, it would cost the city but what is the present system of trash dumping here and there across Vallejo costing? I think I speak for those who want better from their city government.

  • Grant St & Winchester Vallejo, California - Vallejo

Way back on September, 2015 I reported the deplorable condition of Grant St. between Lemon and Cherry streets. The Street Department's reply was:

"Paving of Grant Street from McLane Street to Cherry Street was originally planned to begin September 2015, however, due to unanticipated design challenges, the paving has been pushed back to January 2016. The City provided new sidewalks, driveway approaches, and curb and gutter at no cost to the property owners. The design needs to account for the new concrete as well as unanticipated shallow utilities. Preparatory work such as potholing for utility verification and lowering of utility boxes is scheduled to start this December."

Clearly, nothing has been done and we are almost to Fool's Day, April 1st., 2016, more than six months later. So what is the city's explanation now? Or can I continue to assume that Vellejo's minority neighborhoods still are discriminated against, receiving the lowest priority for city services? Concerned citizens and tax payers would like to know.

Way back on September 9, 2015, I reported the deplorable condition of Grant St. between Lemon and Cherry streets. The city replied:

We are almost at Fool's Day, April 1st, 2016, more than six months later, and clearly nothing has been done. Grant St. is still a mess. Am I to continue to assume the city treats South Vallejo's minority neighborhoods as lowest priority for city services, if at all?

The two westbound red traffic lights at the intersection of Benicia Rd. and Lemon St. are failing. Both are dim, the overhead light is flickering.

Heavily traveled Lincoln Road West, between Benicia Rd. and Starr Ave. is not doing so well in this rainy weather. Several new deep potholes have formed, deep enough to damage some vehicles.
  • 737 6th St Vallejo, California - Vallejo
A recurring problem at this address. The people have no respect for the neighborhood or the law. Car straddles the sidewalk, part way in the street, part way in the driveway. Pedestrians have to walk out into the street to get by. Also, more cars on property than driveway can hold.

  • 649 Grant Street Vallejo, California - Vallejo
The condition of Grant Street between Lemon and Cherry is deplorable. The many utility trenches are sunken causing driving the street is like riding a bucking bronco. Much of the pavement is badly deteriorated. This is a residential neighborhood street in a mostly minority part of town and bespeaks Vallejo's prejudiced neglect of underserved areas. The street needs to be repaired and repaved.
