Hazardous bicycle lane Archived4-8 Kelly Street Ultimo, New South Wales - Sydney - West
The westbound bicycle lane on Kelly St directs riders to the far left of the traffic lane when approaching the Mountain St intersection.
This is the most dangerous lane position: it is difficult for drivers travelling north on Mountain St to see people in the bicycle lane, the sightline is obscured by a building and a tree.
Because of the sightline issues, drivers often stop beyond the stop line. Many don't stop at all.
I have experienced a number of near misses at this intersection, and I now avoid using the bicycle lane.
This lane needs to be removed, or moved further from the kerb.
Whoever designed it, and whoever approved it, may need some additional training in safe bicycle facility design.

13 Union Street Pyrmont NSW 2009, Australia - Sydney - WestVery slippery/dangerous in the wet bikes are falling !
Still not fixed! Still very dangerous in the wet! ! -
2 Meagher Street Chippendale, New South Wales - Sydney - WestDrivers turning right from Meagher St into Abercrombie St frequently fail to give way to bicycles coming in the opposite direction (going straight on from Myrtle St to Meagher St). I have witnessed a number of near misses.

1 Stirling Street Redfern, New South Wales - Sydney - West
The button that cyclists must press in order to get a green crossing light when heading south across Cleveland St into the George St bike path, is placed on the right side of the crossing, meaning that a cyclist that aims to stop near the button in order to press it will be heading into oncoming cycling traffic from the other side.
What genius thought of this?

Pot hole in exit radius roundabout Archived15 Meagher Street Sydney, New South Wales - Sydney - WestWestbound on Meagher there's a 4cmish deep pot-hole in the exit radius of a bicycle. At night this is insufficiently lit to be visible and is highly likely to throw a rider.
-
6-10 Ultimo Road Ultimo, New South Wales - Sydney - WestAs as soon as you turn Right into Harris street it ends in an uncontrolled merge into the tight left hand traffic lane.
-
49-51 Shepherd Street Chippendale, New South Wales - Sydney - West
The road markings at this point are confusing. Traffic travelling north on Shepherd St face a stop sign at Daniels St, however those travelling south do not see a sign, and neither do those travelling west on Daniels St.
This means that cars travelling south on Shepherd or west on Daniels don't always slow to check for traffic, and I was almost hit by a car here recently.
Either the road needs to be marked more clearly so that cars travelling south on Shepherd St know they must turn right (and so give way to traffic coming up Daniels St) if they wish to continue along Shepherd St, OR traffic coming up Daniels St needs to be told to give way to those coming along Shepherd St.
