The homeless encampments are now a sanitation problem that affects the Public Health. The City doesn't seem to be concern with this issue.

At least the vagrants stopped doing the flying toilet thing. But all the bio hazard they produce and leave every where is beyond disgusting. Lake Merritt is just gross.

The vagrants are also using the street storm drains as their toilets. David is right. I jog at Lake Merritt and there are encampments inside. It's no longer a good place for the public to bring their families and kids there to play. It's only in America that the "liberties" of a few can stop the"liberties" of the masses.

Where is the Mayors office while us citizens have to put up with this outrageous homeless situation! The idea of a bucket of urine & feces left out on the sidewalk is horrific!!! Oakland is becoming a public safety hazard! All of Oakland reeks of @#$%! I can't stand how the mayor neglect the entire situation because she lives up on the hill! and doesn't care about any of the flatland issues; she should be embarrassed and ashamed of herself!

The bucket of feces was still there as of last week.

You need to contact the PWD call center 615-5566 and ask for a supervisor. Why has this not been dealt with??? We have a mayor???

When the VA Northern California Health Care System leadership complained to the Mayor Libby about the issue, she didn't know the homeless camp existed. She seem to be inept to the needs of West Oakland.

Oakland should learn something from San Diego's homeless sanitation problem that created a Hepatitis A epidemic crisis.
