Years ago, in Vallejo, we had a City-Police-Citizen initiative known as SAFE STREETS that assisted neighbors of a bad house to take legal action against the owner of the house. This required the landlord, under threat of major financial penalties, to control his tenants, or remove them, and clean-up the property. SAFE STREETS folded after the PD withdrew cooperation, promising to replace it with a "better" program, they called BEAT HEALTH. This case, and too many others like it, suggest that we need to see SAFE STREETS come back again.

City officers, please do something to assist neighbors with a bad house.
