Description
Incoming traffic heading East on Detroit Rd (254) passing through Gulf Rd intersection have an issue of not knowing the 4 lane road is reduced to a 2 way road and as they roll through the intersection they are having to merge with traffic under the light or potentially cause an accident with oncoming traffice sitting in the turning lane. This needs reviewed by a commitee, this is a serious driving concern. I've almost been hit 3 times by oncoming traffice while I wait to turn left onto Gulf Rd.

Sorry for the misunderstanding Bill, but are their signs in the median making drivers aware that the eft lane will be ending soon? I'm not sure I recall seeing them, perhaps I was one of the "stupid" drivers that doesn't have the capabilities to read road signs.
I understand the road may have Left Turn Only but does that do much justice when they are finding out at the last second and need to merge with traffice to the right or the streets are covered with snow?
I think this is an intersection that needs attention for the drivers that arent as fortunate as you....this is an issue that needs addressed.

If memory serves me right there is a sign going east on 254 on the bridge that states "through traffic right lane only. I know the road is marked with left turn only in the left lane as I go through there a few times a week when I have to go to Staples from Sheffield Lake.

The intersection that you are referring to is in Sheffield Township. I suggest you call the police department there and complain about it and see if they can do something about people that don't read the signs.
