Description
There is a section of sidewlak that was moved upwards from the tree that fell over during the hurricane. At least three people that I am aware of have tripped and fallen on the sidewalk as well as into the large hole left from the fallen tree being removed. This has become a very hazardous situation and needs to be taken care of immediately.

Hello DPW can we get this fixed before someone gets seriously hurt??
This is getting a little ridiculous in the amount of time that has passed and nothing has been done, not even a barricade has been put up.
taz4021@cavtel.net (Registered User)
Can this SAFETY issue get taken care of ASAP????
Come on DPW, this has been on the list for some time now, and we don;'t even have a barricade up yet..

The disaster assistance covers eligible government and certain nonprofit costs for damage to critical infrastructure, roads, buildings and equipment, debris removal and related emergency services. This is not the type of federal assistance that can help individuals.

Alright October 9, 2011 was the date that this issue was originally reported and the city is still reviewing this?? Come on people, lets be realistic and get this hazard fixed NOW!!!
This has become unbelievable- Under review dates-4/5/2013, 6/20/13, 10/1/13
lets see if we can get this dangerous trip hazard taken care of before someone gets seriously hurt.

Word of the Day is LIABILITY.
Wounder how the City could afford to pay for all the damages?
taz4021@cavtel.net (Registered User)
Alright we have reached the 1-1/2 year mark and the sidewalk is still not repaired.
Gnome, Good luck suing the city for any reason.

I was incorrect it has now been 2-1/2 years since this was first reported and the issue is still being reviewed? Seriously??
When is this going to be fixed??? This is not the way to maintain services to the residents of the city.

Perhaps the People should seriously think about abolishing the City Council, and replace it with having a public Forum. People could gather, and decide openly what and where the Public funds could go. I am pretty sure that road, sidewalk and infrastructure repair and building would take precedence over certain sport venues being shoved down our throats.
I do not understand why it has taken since October of 2011 to have this resolved.
taz4021@cavtel.net (Registered User)
Alright it has been well over 1-1/2 years and this issue is still unresolved.
What will it take to get this fixed? Does someone have to get hurt because of the hazard before the city will take care of this?
taz4021@cavtel.net (Registered User)
Reported October 6, 2011.. Exactly How long does it take to get this safety related issue dealt with?
I see contractors working on sidewalks across from the VMFA and we cannot get ours fixed??
