On the Taconic State Parkway, right after the Saw Mill exit, right before the entrance in Hawthorne and the exit to the Bronx River Parkway. Cars fly up the closing lane, cutting off traffic in the middle (now right lane), at the same time, you have cars trying to get onto the Taconic from the Entrance, cars trying to get off to the Bronx River, and cars in the left lane suddenly cutting across to the Bronx River. It makes every morning a horror... because it happens pretty much Every morning. It's got me wishing for a "I'm Stupid" tattoo ray gun to zap all the folks cutting everyone off in the mornings.

I don't know how they can fix it unless they close the far right lane on the Taconic at the point of the Saw Mill exit ramp. I guess they could realign traffic and have wider (but not car-wide) shoulders on the left and right side.
Just not a whole hell of a lot you can do.
I think getting NYST to replace the sign that was brought down informing drivers about the lane ending would be a good idea. Half of me believes it was brought down on purpose as a study on driver psychology OR it was hit by a car in an accident and just never put back up. It's been about a year since it was gone and that far right lane is now speedway.
Another solution may be those 'merge arrows' painted onto that lane for the entire stretch from the off ramp to the actual merge location...just to get stupids ready to make their move instead of upsetting flow.
