We've had a problem with southbound traffic attempting to pass on the shoulder while we are trying to turn right into our driveway. Two no passing signs have been put in place by TDOT but the problem persists and is dangerous. Could diagonal stripes be put on the shoulder? Many drivers seem to think it's a turn lane for Old Hickory Blvd. Thank you.

Please advise as to when you think moderator approval might be granted. My wife and I have had some very close calls while turning right from the southbound lane into our driveway. Even though we give right turn signals well in advance of our turn, some drivers are continuing to attempt to pass us on the right shoulder...even after we are into the turn. A driver almost ran into the back of my car two weeks ago...and then accused ME of nearly causing an accident.
It seems that either a different type of striping between the right southbound lane stripe and the shoulder is needed, or diagonal striping is needed between the left (east) edge of the shoulder and the curb, or some other means is needed to clearly reflect that the shoulder is not a turn lane or passing lane. The posted signs do not appear to be sufficient to resolve the danger. This problem has the potential for a very serious accident.
Thank you.
