The neigborhood is watching to see what happens next.

Despite repeated attempts to resolve this blighted condition with the owner, there has been no progress whatsoever over many years. It is time for the City to move forward with the formal blight remediation protocol.

I concur with all my concerned neighbors that this issue needs to be resolved soon. We've all lived with the blight for as long as I've lived in this neighborhood since 2005. The "attractive nuisance" factor presented by this abandoned gas site is increasingly becoming a safety concern for us all, not to mention a finacial concern as it drags down our property values. City of Oakland, please HELP us.

Agreed. This gas station was not well-maintained (broken sign and window, for example) even BEFORE it formally closed down its pumps!

Thank you for your reponse to my blight post. My understanding is that CEDA was dissolved at the end of 2011 and there are 4 new entities. Who should we follow up with?

I would like to see what can be done to have the owners comply with the ordinance below.

Oakland Municipal Code Chapter 8.54
The purpose of this Chapter is to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of the residents, workers, visitors, owners, and proprietors of the City of Oakland and the economic stability and viability of businesses, industries, and neighborhoods in the City by requiring the registration and monitoring of vacant buildings. This program will protect and preserve the livability, appearance, and social fabric of the City and will also protect the public from health and safety hazards and the impairment of property values resulting from the neglect and deterioration of real property and improvements.

There is meant to be a site visit and review of the reports (presumably clean up) on January 15th.
