Signal timing had been changed at this intersection. (response before was because of numerous accidents) who is in charge of changing the timing on all cycles? please have them come at rush hour in the morning or evening and do a traffic study. the backups are absurd and are something that can easily be fixed. Please advise who is in charge of the light cycles. Thank you.

City of Raleigh:
It used to be Green Arrow followed by Yield to Green. You posted that for safety reasons it was changed to Green Arrow followed by Red Light.
You might be interested to know that before the change, I would usually see 1 or 2 cars fail to Yield on the Yield to Green, right after the Green Arrow ended. Now, after the change, I usually see 1 or 2 cars run the Red right after the Green Arrow ends. So, the light change does not seem to have changed behavior, it's just backed up traffic for folks turning left.
I think to really change behavior, you would have to set up cameras at the traffic light...

A couple new pieces of info for the city/consultants. Hopefully they will get this even though the issue is "closed"? I wasn't sure opening a new issue was necessary.
1. The lane paint marks at that intersection are now in need of modification. I think currently the left-turn lane only has room for about 5 cars. Since 15-20 cars are now regularly backed up trying to turn left, the left-turn lane needs to be extended backwards. Of course this might change if the traffic light timing is improved, but, the consultants should look at the lane markings as part of their evaluation, and see if they need to be changed. This is Left from Duraleigh onto Edwards Mill.
2. The Duraleigh/Edwards Mill left turn is now so slow, that Waze has begun creating routes that bypass that intersection. This morning Waze told me instead to go down Macon Pond and turn left from Macon Pond onto Edwards Mill. There is no light there, so that makes it a dangerous left turn during rush hour! I would submit that Waze deciding to bypass that intersection is further evidence that the light timings are too short for left-turners, so I thought the consultants might be interested in that information...
