Description
Railroad Track between Florida and Louisiana Street has litter, debris and homeless encampment. The area seems to be gaining in population the last week so the Railroad company needs to be notified of the mess especially behind the Filipino Center area.

Thank you for reporting! The Community Services Section (CSS) has an ongoing open case for this issue.
On 01/31/18, CSS Partnered with Solano County Outreach Services and multiple people were offered several services.
We will return to this location in the very near future to continue our effort to clear this area.

The problem here is, that end is not directly affecting residents as it is down here by us. By the time they get here it will have become even more out of control, and it's unsanitary for residents/kids.

This was just posted on one of the other Rail Road issues, pretty disturbing statement from Code (non)Enforcement.
CLOSED Code Enforcement Division (Verified Official)
The City of Vallejo cannot enforce on these tracks as they are federally funded. If you have any questions regarding the maintenance of these tracks, please contact the California Northern Railroad directly: https://www.gwrr.com/about_us/contact_us. The main representative for our area is Jake Harrison, General Manager: email address jdharrison@gwrr.com and office phone is 530-406-8897. As previously stated, we “close” an issue in SeeClickFix once we've acknowledged the complaint; however, this issue is NOT "Closed;" it will remain an "Open" case with us until it is corrected. Thanks again for using SeeClickFix!

CNR doesn't answer phone calls or voicemails or emails. This is nonsense, saying there is NOTHING the City of Vallejo can do. So we need to call the Federal Government now? Promises were made to deal with this. Your impotence on this issue is flabbergasting. Does this mean that you have washed your hands of the problem and no further action will be taken,? If that is the case, perhaps bringing a lawsuit to the Rail Road is possible?

The railroad finally responded and sent an email out, so we have now had communication with CNR. I also spoke with Michelle at the City Managers Office and she assured me that the City is not dropping the issue. The City attorney has options if negotiations with the Rail Road continue to fail. Now that CNR has been pelted with questions and complaints, it seems they are responding again. For the railroad to evict these people they need to coordinate with the Police Department & County Services. This takes coordination - which neither the railroad or our city seem to be very proficient at.
In the meantime, there are many locations on the Railroad’s property that are not homeless encampments and just dumping grounds. Those must be dealt with promptly. So continue to campaign by calling or emailing the railroad and the City Manager and city council members.

How disappointing and frustrating!! How can our city have become so disorderly and out of control??!

Here it is. Jake Harrison (CNR's Gen. Manager) is the one representative that did respond via email. Rob Meyer does not even have a voicemail and did not return email.
