This intersection is also where The Murphy School Apartments, a senior living facility, happens to be. It's not really all that safe for able-bodied pedestrians, let alone seniors. At the very least, this intersection could use marked crosswalks. Ideally, there would be crossing lights for pedestrians.

Marked crosswalks just don't cut it. I crossed Halifax St near Wm Peace University, Blount St at New Bern Pl, and Sunnybrook Rd just S of New Bern Ave this morning and no cars stopped at any of them. More often, it seems drivers gun the car to get through before the pedestrian!

This is a residential road with TWENTY FIVE mph speed limit!!! RPD refuses to enforce the speed limit here (or any traffic violations in downtown for that master) as vehicles regularly travel 40-50 mph on N Person st. Seems like the city has acknowledge this st is a problem and doesn’t need to be a main thoroughfare out of DTR. They’ve reduced the speed limit from 30 to 25 and kicked off the two-way project; however these actions have resulted in zero change over the years. Let’s install crosswalks and speed bumps if the two-way project is stalled. Speeds bumps are typically fine in 25mph zones, right. Take action please.
