I ask you kindly to please stop closing this issue. The issue does exist and as it's not urgent, I am not going to call the city. Let's continue to use this forum as it should be used--to report non-urgent issues for the city to look into. If you don't feel the issue is important, simply don't vote on it and move on. @Alice McGee

The reason this is an issue is that NCDOT treats all of North Carolina like it was their private junkyard\ghetto and the CoR won't hold them accountable. As individual citizens, we are essentially barred from meaningful input because NCDOT customer service is horrible. As corporate entity, the CoR is uniquely situated to make the point to NCDOT that they must abide by their responsibility that comes with maintaining their roads, including the city street unfortunate to cross over or under their highways. Has anybody see the trash piles accunulating along Beryl Road, It's NCDOTs responsibility and it's atrocious.I'd like to see this issue left open until the CoR can articulate a plan to bring this righteous indignation to bear on an unresponsive and arrogant state government entity.

Yeah, thanks for the phone numbers but it's not like this is going to get fixed in the next, say, six months. SCF is fine for maintaining focus on things the CoR SHOULD be doing, but, for one reason or another, fall through the cracks. It's way to easy to ignore a phone message.

And I'd say the over\under is four on the number of those numbers that will actually lead to a person answering the phone that can do anything besides answer the phone and take a message. Sorry, but as with all government activities, Customer Service just seems to be a low priority. SCF is a great tool for helping reverse that.

This is inaccurate information. The City is not contemplating any changes to the use of SeeClickFix. We encourage all citizens to use this tool. Our record of response to SCF inquiries is quite good, with a median time to resolve of about 3 days. Some items take longer, but this tool has been valuable to the citizens as well as to our organization and we just want to make sure that's clear.

Thanks to the CoR for continuing to use SCF despite the fact that many in the community found it entertaining to pile on the biscuitgate issue. We have trolls and hooligans just like everybody else but most of us really just want to get a message to a listening ear inside city hall.

My current point is that the CoR should consider a more aggressive position against NCDOT on behalf of its citizens.

With re: SCF, I'd completely understand if the CoR SCF folks would just note "Not Following this Post Anymore" when the trolls and holligans get out of hand.

Hugh, I'd say citizens are well within their rights to speak in whatever forum they choose to try to get government to do its job. If they have problems with homeless people, then they have legal rights. The should be able to depend on government to enforce those rights. If you don't want those property rights protected then you should work at the ballot box to effect the changes you seek to eliminate those property rights.

This issue will be referred to Public Works, an update will be posted once we hear back form them.
