Thank you for posting this issue. the Dept. will review this intersection and make a determination based upon our findings as to whether the pedestrian signal timing should be re-adjusted.
Thanks Guys,
As you can see in the photo you have green light and red hand both facing the pedestrian with cars only able to enter the intersection from the right.
I'm not sure whether the original problem was resolved, but last week I tried to cross here and it appeared as if the signal went to the all-red ped phase, but the ped signal heads continued to display the “DON’T WALK” symbol. In other words, if I wasn’t mistaken, everything—including every one of the ped signals—went to red. Hopefully I was just mistaken. Unfortunately, I hardly ever have a reason to use the ped signal here.
THis is a problem ALL OVER TOWN. Pedestrians see a RED HAND even though ONE-WAY traffic is stopped. You may observe this phenomenon all over NHV. It's ridiculous and stupid, and there must be a way to fix it, especially at intersections where they already placed new infrastructure like lights and switches. It's really frustrating and it makes drivers believe pedestrians are impatient.
