The Dallas Morning News distributes a weekly spanish language paper called the Al Dia. This paper is distributed free of charge to neighborhoods with statistically latin populations. These yellow papers litter the streets, and mostly go unread. I want to stop this unnecessary waste of resources, and clean up the street from this marketing campaign on behalf of the Dallas Morning News.

I contacted every e-mail address on the "Contact Us" section of their website and this is the response:
I have forwarded your email to my Managing Editor and Al Dia’s Publisher.
I am very sorry about this inconvenience.

So far there has been a paper delivered in my alley so I don't know if was intended for me or the neighbor. But I have not received a paper on my lawn.
Hope this helps...

Still tired of picking up litter (Visitante)
It's pretty hypocritical of the Dallas Morning News to print articles bemoaning littering in the city of Dallas when they themselves are responsible for a lot of it. See the photo, count the lovely yellow wrappers in front of this North Oak Cliff house. Just think, there are dozens of houses just like this with just as many papers in those yards as well. The sidewalks, gutters and streets contain them too.

I've thought about doing that so many times...luckily they stopped delivering to my neighborhood...so far.
Good Luck!

Now, how can we get henderson road fixed? Andres family can you answer that? You all now plan a new extension of your aparments. Can you see how bad the road has become? Of course not, because you just want to keep the lease money coming in without thinking of the resources that are being tortured.....F@$%#&!

May I suggest, that when you receive an unwanted, litter paper from Dallas Morning News, you lovingly select it from its landing place upon your property and return it to them by substituting it for their regular paper in one of their commercial vending displays.
Although they do have a small recyling value, if you have called to opt out and have emailed to opt out, yet they insist they are valuable enough to deliver freely to the non-receptive public, then trading them for a rack of the full papers seems like a fair trade practice.

1.We show no record of your call ( Despite of many, many phoned in complaints )
2.We will have the supervisor call you ( They never do)
3.We have made a note of it and in 2 weeks you will not get a paper thrown again.( They just keep throwing )
If i wekly took garbage and tossed it on the front lawn of Aidia/Dallas Morning News i would be facing a pretty hefty fine for littering.

That Girl You See Picking Up These Newspapers ;) (Visitante)
Hi there,
So I have seen many neighborhood forums and blogs as well as city council transcripts, all addressing this general issue, not just with Al Dia, but with all of the free newspapers that are delivered to these areas. As an empathetic neighbor with time on weekends, I usually suit up, load my beagle, Jackson, in my two seater convertible, and I simply pick up the free papers left out at the end of the day. I try to go to different locations each week, but I'm in the North Dallas/Plano area, so I tend to stay in that vicinity. Anywhoo, I just wanted to put it out there that I DO do this, voluntarily of course, and either use the papers for packing material for my business or just recycle. Also, the coupons in some of these papers are valuable grocery coupons and the food bank as well as military families (just to mention a couple) can benefit greatly from having them donated. Also, couponers like myself can actually use them to go buy the things that our community needs, then bring the items in to donate. So, I guess what I'm asking here is: does anyone actually MIND me doing this? I definitely do not want to creep anyone out or worse, get arrested for looking "suspicious". I can't find any laws on this so in the meantime, if you see me and my dog in your neighborhood, come say hello, and dump your trash in my car. I'll take care of it ;)
If any thoughts/ideas, please reply to this post. Thanks!!
