We had from West Main St. to Winthrop Ter. paved last year. Now we need the rest of it paved all the way up to Hanover. The cracks, ruts, and potholes keep getting bigger, wider, & deeper. When will we see this road finally finished????
It's always a matter of what's affordable. In that area, the next project will be sidewalks and curbs on Winthrop Terrace, followed by paving the next year. If you have driven that road lately, you would agree that it is in very bad condition. There also are roads off Hanover further down- like MacKenzie- badly in need of reconstruction.
larry are the going to put it off till winter or next year like they say every year..why cant they start a road and finish it the same month not months later or a year later.meriden needs to get things done faster it takes them so long to finish anything..west main street for one i think they been in the same spot working for two weeks now or more.i see more brakes then work..if its becouse of traffic do it at nite.most people are not working households any why. they party all night long and keep people like me up all night..i understand the buget, but come on , things are only getting half way done are crazy time things do get done the street needs more repair...
The road is unusable for those who use bicycles and scooters. I forgot about the deplorable condition of the road and used it yesterday. Unbelievable tax dollars are not use on yearly maintenance of roadways. It all starts with the cracks and potholes. Year after year after year its the same potholes being fix after the winter thaw. Pet projects must stop and this City must get back to basics when it comes to yearly maintenance.
It is such ashame that a forum like this is needed to get maintenance done. What happen to crews in pickup trucks with shovels in hand and that old school steam roller. The one man machine was a waste of tax payers dollars. Filling potholes with that machine is just a bandaid but the infection continues to fester
Would be nice if when the cracks in roadways start, that the City go out and use crackfiller to avoid further erosion of our roads. I'm not mowing the roadway in front of my house any more unless I get a tax break for doing what the City is suppose to do. Crack on my street gets wider and wider with each new grass season
Sidewalks and curbing contractor on Bradley scheduled to finish mid-September and should be able to make that date. Paving conractor finishing some other roadwork and then will start on Bradley just after the sidewalks and curbs are complete. Work on Winthrop Terrace sidewalks and curbs scheduled for early September. Good pricing should enable us to finish entire street and pave next year.

I receive an email asking me to support issues of my neihbors. I put in my 3 cents in support and now today I receive an email from Emma stating our comments in support of issues are violating rules of clickfix?
If citizens are not allowed to provide opinions, knowing the postings go to city officials....reminding them of how horrible this City is managed, then what is the point of emails sent ot our inboxes requesting us to support our neighbors issues?
@SoConfusedNow - Just to clarify, we definitely encourage users share their feedback, ideas and opinions - even if they are different that what other users have been posting. However, after a comment on this thread that contained inappropriate language was flagged for removal by another SeeClickFix user, I wanted to remind everyone to please be respectful of one another as you continue your discussion about this community issue. Gabe, don't be so quick to assume deletion; after all, we are in cyberland and technical issues come in to play at times. I attempted to close an issue this morning adn experienced trouble doing so.
All too often technical issues with websites are taken personally by those who experience something. If a problem is experienced in cyberland than one must think, just maybe, its the website itself experiencing problems. Unless of course you received an email alerting you that due to your failure to follow terms of service, your account has been deactived. Nobody reads the small print (present typist exception of course)
Just an FYI. I hope it was just a technical issue taken personally. Think positive, keeps the wrinkles away LOL
@ Gabe Ravizza - Comments sometimes pop up in our machine-automated moderation queue, which requires approval before posting. This explains the delay in posting to this particular issue since the queue must be checked regularly throughout the day. I understand that it can be frustrating, but moderations automatically occur under certain situations. The system will automatically moderate issues or comments for several reasons whether the place is being moderated, if the comment/issue contains any keywords or explicit language, if someone posts multiple comments/issues in a given time, and so on. SeeClickFix will only delete posts that contain content that violates our Terms of Service. Again, I apologize for the delayed posting of your comment. Please don't hesitate to send any questions, concerns, or suggestions to contact@seeclickfix.com
LMAO, ok Gabe, I see you're point.....your post indeed does show. Technical issue I think so! Perhaps you should rethink entering websites on the web. Taking things so personally is going to age you quickly. I can only imagine how foolish you must feel at this point

Joke in on you ICU. I posted a post about the current state of the city and it has not showed up at all. It went into moderation, and then quite possibly garbage. It was well worded, and no cuss words used. After all it is all of us tax paying residents that pay for this service. I dont see how SeeClickFix takes it upon themselves to moderate what issues get posted and which do not. Lets call a spade spade, and be civil about our conversations.

@Emma, thank you for the information you provided. I forgot that we had the option to "report as inappropriate"; your reminder that it exists is truly appreciated. I agree that constructive interaction should be made priority of this forum and will handle myself accordingly to ensure I never respond to that wah wah comments posted by others believing they are being targeted.
Thank you for reminding me of the options that are afforded on clickfix
Well it's Nov now, and we all know that this street won't be paved this season. First question, "Why did we start so late again this year ???" Second question, "Since we all know it won't be paved, how about patching the potholes and canyons (yes these can be called canyons now), on both sides at least be patched in ???" It's been 2+ years of this steet looking like hell. Isn't it enough for us who use it daily & those who live there???? All I know is that it's going to be another long CT winter driving on a sorry looking road in town. I guess the city will be getting a lot of car repair bills this season due to this road. I pay taxes for this ??? Ugh.......it's just so sad.
Well, it's now Nov., and we all know that the rest of Bradley Ave WILL NOT be getting paved this season. First question is, "Why not ???" Maybe if the job started earlier in the year, we wouldn't be looking at such a sad road for yet another long CT winter. Second question, "If we're not paving it, why aren't we filling in all the potholes & canyons (yes these can now be called this) that are on both sides filled in for the winter ???" If the city can't or won't pave, at least fill these things in before a lot of us send te city repair bills for our vehicles. That's why I pay taxes for, and now after 2+ years of this, it's just enough. It makes the city look bad, and I feel sorry for the people who live on that section of Bradley. It's just sad
This is still scheduled to be paved this year before the end of the paving season. The contractor was doing the prep work last week and is supposed to be on site to begin paving by the middle of this week. If not, please post again.
