That crabhole has been used for years and has been around longer in Guilford than you have. It's not going away. Drive slow when you go over the hill so you don't cause an accident.
The correct form is "drive slowly."
Laws regarding littering could be enforced.
No need to be nasty toward me; I'm not the one causing the mess.
Also, no need to assume that I do not drive slowly over the hill.
Vehicles should not be stopped in the road, nor should they be parked in "no parking" areas.
You're also assuming that you know how long I have lived in Guilford.
I can assume you haven't been here long otherwise you would know about the crabhole. There are a lot of local customs that need to be protected. This is one of them. Drive slow. Respect that people are using the pull off to catch crabs, even if you don't do it or don't know anything about it. Trash isn't good, but neither are bland suburbs. We need to protect the character of our town.
Hello. This is a lovely spot and I feel lucky to be able to park in what limited designated parking there is. I pass no judgement on others using the area - in fact, I tend to like seeing folks out crabbing - but there does seem to be a lot of garbage, and I am concerned that parking may be withdrawn altogether if this continues.
I'd be happy to get together once or twice a year with any locals to do a few hours of garbage clean up. Making an effort to keep the area clean might just dissuade the litter bugs. It would at least be an effort to redress the balance.
I agree that this crabbing hole is an issue, and the litter and obstruction to the road is a problem creating danger for drivers and pedestrians. I have seen people stop in the middle of the road to load kayaks into their cars, and those actions are unacceptable. something needs to be done. And lets face it, I have lived in Guilford all my life and never once have i felt differently about this obnoxious and inconvenient crabbing hole. Also, what "Character" does it add to the town? None. All it does is pose a risk for crabbers and drivers.
