My name is Fonda Dickson and I live @11611Hidden Grove Tr. My husband James and I have lived here for 13 years, we built our home through what was then Don Gallaway Homes and the other builders were Eastwood Homes.
Both builders sold the property rights of the Rocky Ridge Subdivision to Squires. Since this time Squires has went bankrupt and left the rights up in the air.
My neighbors and I have been fighting with the city, the county and the state of N.C. for going on ten years now to get them to be responsible for the repairs and upgrades to the roads within this subdivision, no one will take responsibility.
My neighbors and I have been responsible for over 10 years to fix the potholes, we are tax paying citizens and should not have to spend our hard earned money repairing these roads.
We reported this issue to WSOC severaly years ago. They came out and looked around with their cameras but the situation did not change, once again I contacted the city, county and the state. The city told me and my neighbors that it was the county or the states responsibility.
Once again I went through the same situation no one wanting to take responsibility. The county and the state told me that they were not aware of the existance of the subdivision so the state ask me to take a count of the amount of homes in the neighbor and the neighbors information and fax this to them so the (State) could investigate this.
I faxed the information and several weeks later I received a call from the state saying that the builders then Don Gallaway now Lennar Homes and Eastwood did not turn in the the required information regarding this subdivision and that is the excuse given to tax paying citizens for issues that are out of our control.
Last year the state cut into my subdivision from Albermarle Rd 24/27.
They (the state) extended Blair Rd. by cutting though our subdivision and making and entrance from the extension of Blair Rd. through Willow Falls drive.
But neither the city, county nor the state can take responsibility to fix the pot holes and wear and tear on the normal use of the roads in our subdivision, but they can build a cut through for others to use to get to Rockly River Road from Albemarle Rd.
What kind of sense does this make for the tax paying citizens of the Rocky River Road sub division??????
Any assistance in this matter form WSOC would be highly appreciated.
Sincerely,
James & Fonda Dickson
